Welcome

Landen has been (and is) such a priceless and eternal blessing to our family since his arrival. As you can tell, he's absolutely adorable and happy. We simply can't get enough of him!
As of August of 2013 we added another addition to our family, Brigit Nicole. She is missing part of her 3rd chromosome. We are still learning every day new things about her disability. We have a total of 4 kids and couldn't be happier!

The purpose of our site is to reach out to others who have Angels with Spina Bifida (or other special needs) for a supportive bond.

Fun at the Knights game!

We went to the Charlotte Knights game last night and the temperature was GREAT, a little chilly actually. Landen had a wonderful time playing with his friend Jake and the goodies they handed out as we walked through the gates.
Landen kept hitting me in the head with these things...but boy did he love them!
With our friends Jake, Jeff and Melissa!
                                                         See....look at these daddy!

Last night was Autism awareness night(notice the sleeves on their shirts)

Then on the way home, Landen fell fast asleep! I didn't even have the chance to give him a bath before bed time.

Snoozing away with his new Spina Bifida shirt on and his Bob the Builder blanket.
                                                        Gosh, how sweet is he?
I sure do LOVE LOVE LOVE this sweet monkey!!

This morning he woke up a hungry little boy. BUT..... as you can see, I don't let him feed his self on a regular basis because it ends up everywhere else but in his mouth!!
                                                              I can't find my mouth!
                                                            See my hat mommy~
                                                         Look at my pretty teeth!
This is where his spoon ended up and his chocolate cereal!
And this is where his bowl ended up
He was happy to get his "empty" bowl back.
What a silly little boy!

Good Night ...Sleep Tight

I've said this before but Landen absolutely LOVES his brother to pieces. There isn't anyone that can make Landen laugh like Zach can. Landen can be crying one minute and as soon as he sees his bubba, he's laughing histerically and can barely catch his breath. Last night Zach bet me that he could get Landen to sleep. And of course 10 seconds prior to him saying that, he was in Landen's room playing with him and being wild and Landen was not at all ready for bed. So... I took that bet because in my mind there was NO WAY that Zach could get him to sleep ESPECIALLY since they were  just playing. I thought for sure I would hear them both in his room laughing and talking but instead...I heard nothing but Landen's humidifier running. About 15 minutes later I went to peek in on them and this was what I saw......

STILL TOO TIRED TO BLOG

I was too tired to post on the last blog and I'm STILL too tired to blog a month later! My life is full of chaos(or should I say that I am just so busy that it feels chaotic)I am sleep deprived, my hormones are "out of whack" (most likely from the sleep deprivation)and I am tired of being tired!! With all that being said, I have freed up my Thursday's because Landen's IE quit on us and we are now going on our 3rd IE. I put a hold on the new IE coming out until August IF I even continue with baby net.(not too pleased with their services).
We FINALLY started with a speech therapist last week and she is wonderful...but she works for the school district so in August she will be leaving to go back to school and we will be assigned a new speech therapist.(Just our luck) For those who are wondering why a 14 mos old needs a speech therapist, it's for Landen's feeding issues not talking. He is still aspirating and is not eating "real" food yet.

Why am I so tired? My sweet, smart, funny, awesome, one of a kind, love of my life 14 mos old has not slept all night in about 3 mos. Why? oh, who knows! He wakes up screaming several times a night and sometimes we just bring him back to bed with us since I have to get up at 3:30am to get ready for work. But most of time, when he's in bed with us, it takes him several and I mean SEVERAL hrs to go back to sleep. By then, I've gotten like 2 hrs of sleep and it's time for me to wake up. Most people just assume since I am a stay at home mom( when I get off work at 9am) I can just go home and nap with that sweet boy that keeps us up all night. NOPE... that would be the glamorous life that I SO DON'T HAVE!! We have therapy every day other than Thursday and Monday but that doesn't mean we don't have several other Dr's appts, house cleaning, grocery shopping, and the list goes on and on and on and on like the freakin' energizer bunny.  So, my OBGYN says to me...Tosh, take some vitamins and get some sleep. OK DOC, LET ME WORK ON THAT!(As I roll my eyes at him and vision me choking the life out of him for even suggesting me get some sleep) SERIOUSLY? Is that not what I try to do when I hit the mattress at night?
Now... you are really going to think I am crazy when I tell you what my husband and I are thinking about.
ADOPTION #2  Yes, I am certified crazy and I have papers to prove it(signed and notorized). =)
I know I am sitting here complaining and whining about how tired I am and how busy my life is and NO I AM NOT ON CRACK but yes, we are seriously contemplating starting our second adoption. How are we going to afford it? We haven't thought that far in advance yet but we aren't getting any younger so we need to do it sooner than later.

BEACH VACATION

We left Sunday June 19th (Father's Day)and headed to Garden City, North Myrtle Beach with Ron's entire family. Our total vacation dates were from the 19th - 26th. Well, Landen and I came home Wed. the 22nd. The beach is not Landen's favorite place. He doesn't like the beach and the sand, doesn't like the ocean and can't get in the pool because he has an allergic reaction to the chlorine (we assume it's the chlorine) We've gotten in the pool at my moms and during Spring Break and he has broken out in a severe rash every time. So, needless to say, it was too hot at the beach and there is only so much shopping you can do before you are bored to tears... and broke as a joke! Atleast the rest of the family had a FANTASTIC time. Here are a few pictures from the beach. As you can see in a couple of them, Landen is sitting on a little boogie board because he IS NOT about to touch the sand.

Other news and updates with Landen. He has been fitted for his second pair of AFO's and a knee immobilizer has been ordered as well. He will be fitted for his first wheelchair in the next couple of weeks at therapy. He has become a "copy cat" and likes to mock most of what you say and do. And the most exciting news, he has begun to pull up on his knees. Yay for the monkey!!

That's about it for now. Enjoy the pictures!
